Msi game boost or manual OC for Ryzen 5 3600

I have heard that Manual OC was better than Game boost but wanted to ask you guys if that was true. I have a Ryzen 5 3600 on a B450 Tomahawk max and was thinking msi game boost or manual OC. People say that game boost puts to much voltage, so should I enable it or just manual??

If you want absolute peak performance, go manual. It'll be less stable and WAY more work, but you will squeeze absolutely every cycle out of your hardware (beware the heat increase in your room tho).
If you want ease of use, stability, and time on your hands, go standard

MSI Game Boost is Precision Boost Overdrive (at least on my B550 Tomahawk).

Okay so this is a tough one. In my experience, PBO/Game Boost does not affect voltages. Zen2 right out of the box tends to push up to 1.5V (in my experience) while on single core or light (~20-40%) loads. Game Boost/PBO didn't increase this at all for me.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe PBO just removes certain power limits. Voltages were unchanged after enabling it

 

 

I personally would try Game Boost (which is precision boost overdrive, make sure when saving BIOS changes it says Precision Boost Overdrive [Auto] -> [Enabled], if Game Boost changes something else don't use it and just enable PBO the other way, in the OC settings) and see how it does! On my 3700X, I got a 100-200 Cinebench R20 score increase, which is pretty nice!

Btw do a Cinebench run will monitoring voltages. They should be below the 1.4V seen without an all-core load (around 1.3 in my experience)
