Is RM650X (V1) stable enough for this build?

Guest

So the situation is that my rig has a Corsair RM650X (V1, not V2. It was bought in 2017.) and my girlfriend uses a BitFenix Whisper M 750W. We want to add custom replacement cables to her rig but CableMod hasn't tested their cables on BitFenix units so it feels too risky. My idea was that we could simply swap PSUs, but I've been told it's recommended to use a PSU that's AT LEAST 100W more than your expected wattage. Now PCPartPicker says her build is about 469W, other calculators say it's up to 530W. She doesn't overclock her CPU or GPU, actually has the GPU undervolted to 1900mhz 1000mv to reduce heat.

I'm just a bit paranoid my PSU wouldn't be good enough, so I'm asking for advice here. Here is her rig (without the PSU):

On top of that she usually has a drawing tablet plugged in and charges some devices using USB, which I'm aware doesn't draw a lot of power but I just wanna mention it.

No not really. If the PSU can provide the advertised wattage then it's fine. And your system doesn't consume more than 350ish watts at worst.

The rmx will be more than enough.

You're nowhere near stressing that RM650x.

That PC won't be anywhere near 500W, it's more like 300-350W at best, the calculators aren't accurate and they make a lot of safe assumptions about a lot of components, it would never recommend a PSU lower than what your system needs, but you have to keep in mind that their recommendation is already inflated.

Also even if it is at 500W that still won't stress the RM650X in any way, that PSU can handle the full 650W load with no issues.
