You're more likely to get an answer if you make the title more relevant to your question and add details about your model of laptop, what you were expecting to play on it and so on

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

I don't think there's a solution to this other than to buy more ram.

feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)

I correct you. He has a dedicated GPU (1060), so he just needs to disable the integrated one on the AMD 3350H. This is usually done in the BIOS. I don't know why it's not disabled by default. Without exact model it is hard to say.

That's because a majority of laptops now will flip flop between the integrated gpu and the dedicated gpu to conserve battery. So when your gaming it will use the dedicated but if your just surfing the web, it will use integrated.

With his being AMD based, it might be locked into the on position.  But without knowing his model of laptop and such, we're stuck being unable to fully help.

It was meant more as kind of a joke :) Sorry. And @Zusafek also corrected me, so it's fair, I guess.

RAM could be the issue, but depending on his expectations ("i cant play games on it how i had imagined"), which we don't know, it also could be the mobile 1060 limiting his experience... the lack of information opens a world of speculations...
