Running out of water? If this works with salt water, there's nothing to complain about.

But you are surrounded by an ocean.... just use the ocean saltwater for electricity and fresh water for drinking....

aus is largely sounded by marine sanctuarys so sadly lots of locations are cut off because of this. there are a few desalination plants in aus but there isnt enough to get water to the farmers and the citys

Uh.... the world is made up of 72% water....

And do you know what fraction of a percent of that is potable?

And do you know what chunk of that fraction of a percent is in the form of glaciers?

Not saying this is a bad idea, just pointing that out.

I think you misinterpreted. Sea water. There's no restrictions, nor a shortage of sea water. It's not like you have to have a hose constantly running into a battery to power your beast PC. In the video, he splashed like 100mL on it, that's literally nothing.

Most likely, the water doesn't need to be fresh. You could chuck the thing in a salt-water river and it'd come out charged.

EDIT: The site says that any water can be used. Ocean water, fresh water, hell I reckon piss could work, there's enough water in that.

You're lying, I saw Finding Nemo. You're not tricking me.

JK, well I guess this could still be used in every other country...

That's an absolutely horrible idea. In no way should water be used for power especially the very limited supply of fresh water.

You can use any type of water. You know, like that Ocean over there. And that one over there. Oh, and also that one.

you're missing my point

Did you know that if this would get funded, they might expand to bigger things other than a light? You don't have to pour water from a bottle on it, you can throw it in a lake and it would be charged. That is if it's a lake of water....

Did you know almost all the water you use in a 1st world country (i.e. the water that would likely be used with this device) is potable?
