Need help choosing a good 1000w Power Supply and case.

StarShine

Hi all. I need some help choosing a Power Supply and would like some case recommendations. It seems all the things I have been looking at buying are out of stock due to current events, so thought I would post here for your insights and expertise!

This will be for a PC/Hackintosh build.

Here are the parts:

CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor (possibly OC'd at some point, but not sure yet)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12A 60.09 CFM CPU Cooler (suggestions welcome, but do not want liquid cooled)
Thermal Compound: ARCTIC MX-4 2019 Edition 4 g Thermal Paste
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z490 VISION D ATX LGA1200 Motherboard (need Thunderbolt and is an easy board for Hackintosh purposes)
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (Will be added at a later time)
Storage: Sabrent Rocket 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Storage: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
4 - 5x Storage: Western Digital Black 6 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (will have 4-5)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 580 8 GB PULSE Video Card (For Hackintosh)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB Video Card (For PC)
Power Supply: Phanteks Revolt X 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer

Estimated Wattage: 871 watts

I choose the Phanteks Revolt X 1000w, but looking for guidance. Would prefer an A Tier PSU. I will not have both graphics cards at first but I want to future proof my PSU purchase now for future upgrades to my system.

I rather keep PSU pricing below $200 - 250 if possible

As for the case, most important features are a lot of drive/HDD bays, good cooling, and something for dust protection (mesh, filter, etc). I don't care as much about looks, lighting, etc... more about the functionality, but I do like a see-thru side panel. Also would like the front panel to have Power/Reset/USB/Audio ports. My current PC is a full tower (HAF X) and I enjoy the extra room in it for ease of installing components (I just don't like how much dust it collects and the HDD bays could be a bit friendlier). So another full tower would be great. I would consider a mid-tower if it is clearly a more exceptional choice.

I'd like to keep the case pricing below the $150 - 200 range.

Would love choices that are in stock at the moment, but also what your best choice would be overall.

Thank you!

would get one of these. 850W should be enough, you won't run both gpu at max power at the same time.

Tier A • Recommended for high-end systems

Multi-rail

Antec | High Current Pro Platinum

 BeQuiet! | Straight Power 11 Gold / Platinum - Dark Power Pro P10 / Pro 11

 Bitfenix | Formula Gold (<=550w/650+) - Whisper (<=550/650+)

 Cooler Master | Masterwatt maker - V-Platinum 2019

Corsair | AXi - RMi - HXi - HX Platinum Vengeance Silver

 Deepcool / Gamer Storm | DQ-M

 Delta | GM

 Enermax | Digifanless - Platimax (1200/1350W) / D.F =>750W - Revolution D.F - MaxRevo

Is there a reason you want 128 gigs of ram? I know that’s not what your asking for but this has struck my curiosity

Forgive my ignorance in this matter, but almost every single one of those links is to a PSU that is not available at the moment. Unless I'm doing something wrong...

I run multiple Virtual Machines and have a lot of memory hungry programs open at once.

No, it’s due to COVID.

Sadly seems the only PSU's in stock are either not rated in any Tier, or are in a lower Tier. Pending further suggestions here, I will most likely just buy whatever 850-1000w is in stock, and has mostly good reviews.

Oh nice. I think I wasn't looking at those at first since I didn't see a Tier rating in the spreadsheet for them, but they have alot of good reviews which is nice. Thanks for the find!

So between these, which would be the most recommended? Or would all of these be good choices?

Seasonic FOCUS GX-850, 850W 80+ Gold

Seasonic FOCUS PX-850, 850W 80+ Platinum

Antec Signature Series SP1000, 80 PLUS Platinum Certified, 1000W (Just found this Antec one, but unsure if it's the same as listed in the Tier list.)

Good to know! Was going to go with the Platinum, but if Gold will be fine I can save a few bucks.

You can adjust the wattage to find a PSU in a lower wattage range, or higher. 850w would be more than fine for that build.

Say the DPP 11
