hdd not showing up

my hdd will not show up in file explorer and disk management.

it will show up in device manager and the bios.

does anybody know how to fix this?

Is the HDD new? Or do you have data on it?

does it show up in storage spaces? if storage space stakes the disk it wont show up in disk management

yes it does show up in storage spaces.

it is open box.

Does it show up in DISKPART ? 

Open command prompt and type: diskpart.

After diskpart is opened type: list disk

You should see it.

then you can tell it to remove the drive from storage space and use it normally, or use the reset-physicaldisk comand in powershell

It seems like storage spaces has taken the disk, so you need to tell it to remove it from storage spaces.

so i wanted to use raid0 2+1+1 tb the 2 tb did nothing the 1tb went offline and the other 1 tb disappeared

how did you setup the raid? Did you use storage spaces? 

 

Storage spaces in windows seems to be using the drives, which hides it from disk management.

storage spaces in raid only have 1 disk in it and it happens to be the disk that i am missing.

it says i can remove it but when i try it says can`t remove from the pool
