Is 83c safe for CPU temperature?

Hello, im using an i5-4460 @ 3.20Ghz cpu and the temperature goes up to 83c when I render some projects. Is it safe for my cpu or will it cause damage if I let it render for many hours?

Ps: I don't know much about some of the specs of my computer has since this was only given to me and it is second hand.

83C is a little too much for stock speeds. SInce you bought this second hand and don't know the parts, I have a feeling you haven't reapplied thermal paste. Thermal paste tends to dry and should be reapplied every 5-6 years at least. also check if you cooler has come a little lose from all the vibration over the years.

I mean 83°C is fine but lower is always better. Maybe you get get rid of the stock cooler some time in the future and replace it with a $20 tower cooler to get noise and Temps down quite a bit.

I am fine with them, tough haven't had too much experience with older cpu or don't really remember. But should be fine, 95 degree is where it become hotter. But an older system just re apply the past and should be fine.

While anything under 90 is safe, I'd say reapply thermal paste (and use good paste) and set your cooler to performance in the BIOS. That should bring it to under 75
