So you could say go for the cheapest (out of the two i posted earlier) because they perform the same basically?

if u don't wanna change settings in bios, get the 3600, if you know how to change basic settings in bios or is using the ryzen dram calculator just get the cheaper kit, same thing with different docp profiles.

Hi there!

I've recently been getting some cash together to visually upgrade my pc a bit, and now I got the oppurtunity to get some corsair Vengeance RGB Pro memory (2x 8gb 3600 cl18) for quite cheap.

I currently run a 2600 with an asus b450-f mobo. I was wondering if this would be a wise upgrade, while keeping in mind that I'm planning to upgrade to zen 3 (with new mobo) when it comes out.

Feel free to let me know what you think.

(according to asus the mobo is capable to up to 3200Mhz with 2nd gen ryzen).

No. It's motherboard speed compatibility doesn't matter a whole lot. What mostly Matters is cpu's capabilities.

How cheap ? Because a 3200 cl 16 kit will perform about the same. How much does a cl16 3600 kit cost?

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Ryzen may not play nice with with that ram due to the odd timings without manually tuning it.

Id go for the corsair Vengeance RGB Pro memory (2x 8gb 3200 cl16)  personally

You can probably down clock to 3200 and get that latency to cl16. How much does a 3600 cl 16 kit cost ? If the price difference is huge this wouldn't be a bad deal.

3200 is like 5 EUR cheaper. Would I then not miss the point when (if ofcourse) I upgrade to a "4700"?

What cas latency?

Well lower cas latency with lower frequency kit will probably perform better.

You can get CMW16GX4M2D3600C18 for  ~€98, new

It'd be a better deal if it's CMW16GX4M2K3600C16 - they're about €225

I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have added.

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

The two I quoted are both 3600MHz; one of them for €85 isn't that great a deal, the other one is.
