Do I need to replace my ssd?

RotoCoreOne

I recently replaced my hdd in my laptop with an ssd (is not used for OS). I've noticed periodically that I will no longer be able to access the drive and windows will prompt me that the drive needs to be formatted to be used. This drive is a few years old (at least 4). I've never dealt with a bad ssd before so I'm wondering if this is the case.

Seems like your SSD is on its way out. Run crystaldiskinfo to see how many bad sectors you have.

crystaldiskinfo shows it's at 94% health. 20TB of writes over its lifetime. I've reseated and checked the connections to the ssd (its a 2.5in drive) a few times. So either it's the laptop itself or something else on the ssd. If it's the laptop, I guess I'll just replace the m.2 drive for a bigger one
