There is a "fact" that if you play competitive csgo and other games alike, then Intel is better than AMD cause more fps. The thing is that the fps are above 500 on both. As far as I know there are maximum of 240 fps monitors, so what's the deal??? Why do you need that many?

Also if you have 60htz monitor, why do you need more than that for a game?

Usually you can still improve your minimum frame times.

High refresh rates mean more frames, which means your information is updated faster. Basically you'll see a person a split second before someone on a 60hz monitor. There's an LTT video on this.

You don't. But still, if you can render 500fps every frame that is displayed on your monitor will be about 4ms more "up to date" than if your PC could only render 240fps.

If you aren't super competitive, aka eSports level, anything above 144hz is a waste. Both monitor Hz and fps. That said it's the minimums FPS you should look at, not the average.

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
It matters that you don't just give up.”

You dont. Its a Myth that this would give you any advantage. A good CS player can slaughter a less skilled Player with any kind of reasonable FPS.

And most People cant even notice the frames above 144 without a counter.

Personally I just have the FPS counter disabled, and if it look smooth to me I’m fine with it.

The only thing I notice in online games is lag.

Could be a "Pepsi blind test" situation above 144. But when they talk about a 100 years old game and a new processor, I break my head to find the slight reason

actually the latency is only a minority issue. More updates makes it infinitely easier to aim at targets that change direction often.

I actually found high fps is better than high res for sniping.

The second thing is less blur from moving objects. Once objects move at a certain speed on your screen, 4k becomes 400p.

You are effectively blinded when turning fast. The effect is so big that stopping for a split second to get an unblurred view is regular part of gameplay. Yes I can see everywhere when I fly in 4k, but when I roll, I have to stop, look and continue. IT's jarring.

Input lag is only a problem when there's a serious game-os-api-driver, that causes multi-frame input lag.

Or when v-sync jumps a frame.

With windows now shoving their nose with free-sync settings etc, it's harder and harder to know what bug-level lag is caused by. I currently deal with some shit with bf5 sometimes, maybe it's just the last update...

CPU: Ryzen 5500 GPU: RX 6800 RAM: DDR4 3200MHZ 48GB (2x8+2x16 GB)  MOBO: MSI B450-A PRO Display: 4k120hz with freesync premium.

For sniping actual you need a good monitor. You get to fps mode (highest contrast, lower green, deeper blacks.. Sharp as possible)

Once you’ve played at high FPS it’s hard to go back to 60 FPS. It just feels so much more smooth.
