Dual 5120x1440 vs single 3840x2160

If I game on a 5120x1440 monitor, then have a second 5120x1440 monitor on top of that one which only displays my desktop, will that put more, less, or equal strain than if I were to run a single 3840x2160 monitor?

5120x1440= 7,372,800 pixels

 

3840x2160= 8,294,400 pixels.

 

So if you are not watching any 4k videos or doing anything intensive on the top monitor, the performance should be about the same.
