New Pc crash at almost random times

Hi, I just built a new system for myself:

 

System:

Ryzen 3700x

GTX 2070 super

ASROCK X570 Pro4

Kingston HyperX 16Gb (2x8Gb) @ 3200Mhz (Have not enabled xmp so running at 2400Mhz currently)

Kingston A400 480Gb SSD

Seagate 2tb Barracude Computer HDD

TP-Link Archer TX50E AX3000 wifi card

EVGA 80+ certified 500W PSU

 

Problem:

Over the past week of usage, the PC has crashed (and sometimes refuses to turn on for an unspecified amount of time) around times of high usage ie gaming. Ive been able to play minecraft modded perfectly fine (all with seemingly lower than what i should be getting FPS - but that might be a separate issue), however occasionally when i start up CSGO or valorant my pc will either

 

1-Work perfectly

2-Turn off and restart

3-Turn off, And i cannot get it to restart for an unspecified amount of time.

 

What I've done to try and fix this:
I've been going under the assumption modded Minecraft is not as intensive as Valorant or CCSGO and that is the reason my PC crashes for those games, as such the problem has been refined down to "My PC crashes OCCASIONALLY when under high load". This leads to a few thoughts:

-Overheating

-Not enough power from PSU

-Hardware failure in other senses

 

First lets think about the possibility of overheating, My temps at idle are good for GPU and Hard drives; averaging about 40C, however my CPU and Mobo:

 

I don't like that they're that high, perhaps they're getting too hot? My computer shuts down before I can put them under load. However to oppose this when my PC would not start back up again it would sometimes be off for >a day and would still not turn on, by then surely the components would've cooled and my PC would've turned on if it was an overheating issue?

 

Next lets think about not enough power from the PSU. I only have a 500W PSU and a 3700x and a GTX 2070 Super to power, along with everything else. Additionally when looking through event viewer:

Dates in the last week of critical errors in windows with the source: "Kernel-Power", when looking this up:

"The Kernel-Power error (ID 41) error message states that the system has rebooted without first cleanly shutting-down. It can be caused if the system stops responding, crashes, or loses power unexpectedly. To be more precise, the error occurs when the computer is shut down or restarted unexpectedly."

 

Sounds like this might be the issue, I did a test on my PSU to test if it was working correctly, putting a paper-clip between the green and black wires of my 24-pin connector, all the fans start up, indicating (according to the source i read) that the PSU is not faulty. So potentially I need a bigger PSU.

 

 

Finally lets think about other hardware failure, looking at reliability monitor:

Each error (excluding the last) simply says windows was not properly shut down on the days my pc has crashed, however the most recent error was "hardware error":

I'm not really sure what to do with this information, other than the thought that possibly I have hardware playing up, thought it was worth mentioning.

 

I've done the normal things of disassembling my PC and reassembling, re seating ram and putting it over into different slots, resetting the CMOS, yet my issue continues. Does anyone have an idea what I should do next to investigate/fix my problem?

From what I can see, it is very low quality compared to the rest of the components.

Yeah, get that changed as soon as possible. Considering what procedures you have gone through already there is a 90% chance this is the problem.

Ive been using this exact PSU for my previous build for about 5/6 years, how comes you think the PSU is the problem?

I was referring to the exact model of the PSU, but yeah it's one of the ones I mentioned, it's very likely the culprit here.

Ditch it immediately and go buy a proper power supply.

Power supplies degrade over time mate... (she is tired and may have to be retired...)

Its brand new, I now have two of the same PSU. I got the same one i used for ages since it worked perfectly.

Yeah that'd be good. If you can get a 550W RMx or RM those would be even better, but still the TXM is miles ahead of the W1 in terms of quality.

Its fine for low power machines but the beastly stuff you hooked it up to is out of its league, also even if it did work it may degrade over time and would stop working well enough for it in a year, two years maybe more but who knows.

Those are not bad tough I personally prefer the pricey EVGA & Seasonic ones.

Mkay, but Seasonic doesn't have an equally good or better PSU at the same price as the RMx, and I'm pretty sure neither does EVGA.

Around the same price at the TXM though a Seasonic Focus GX or EVGA G2 are good substitues though, or maybe they're slightly more expensive, I can't remember exactly.

Depends on whats on the local markets! (some are hard to find in certain countries)

True, especially with the shortage that's still going on.

 

Either way, the TX650M OP found would be a good fit.

To be honest. I think the fan on that PSU is dead and it causes it to overheat and shuts off. My friend had that problem  a while ago. What he did was placing a small fan behind blowing air into the PSU.

Think ill make a different post about that though since its kinda unrelated. Ill come back to this post if after I find a new PSU the problem persists.

No worries. I'd suggest first checking out the forum's PSU tier list here to give you a fairly simple idea of other good alternatives. For your system, I'd suggest going for a unit that's at least in the B+ tier and that isn't written in grey.

Thanks a bunch, I'm using that as a reference for the PSUs i would get in the future. Unfortunately im not having much luck finding a PSU on pcpartpicker (shameless plug to my new post here) as they all seem out of stock or unavailable to ship to me. Ill defo keep that tier list pinned

I thing you PSU isnt able to provide enough power for this setup. 

Your GPU use already up to 215 watts advies for this GPU is a PSU of at least 650w so yeah you try to pull more power than you PSU can actually handle.

A 3700X and 2070S can run on a 450W PSU (heck even a 3950X and 2080Ti could). It's just that the EVGA W1 is very poor quality and not meant to handle even half-decent parts.
