cant get over 870mhz on msi afterburner

im using one of my friends pc and overclocking the gpu to get the most out of it

it has a gt630

i cant get over 870mhz on memory clock its the max amount on afterburner ( i was able to go upto 915 on core clock without highering core voltage)

also core voltage power limit and temp limit is locked

i have unlock voltage control and unlock voltage monitoring in settings checked but still locked

what should i do

It's probably locked down at a hardware level, simply because it's a basic display adapter more than anything else. The GT 630 wasn't really meant for overclocking or anything along those lines.

also its the ddr3 model with 1gb of vram GF108

The Graphics Card's vBIOS is setting a limit then.

There is not much you can do, UNLESS you want to try / risk flashing the vBIOS on the card that belongs to another GT 630.

i have seen people with gt 710s and even gt520s overclock thel hell out of their cards

is it because it has default vbios?

Could be that the VBIOS on it is just locked down, but I can't say for sure.
