Can Someone Confirm I'm Doing This Right?

I have been planning to build my own computer for a few weeks now and after looking at various reviews/builds and guides I have come up with these parts to suit my needs and budget, leaving me with around £100 to get some games as this will be my first time stepping into PC gaming from console.

Budget (including currency): £1000

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

The games I play are; Call of Duty, Battlefield, Need for Speed, GTA 5 and Destiny.

When not gaming, this computer will be taking me through my Computer Science degree and possibly a Computer Science masters, looking at the course guide this will include programming and a small element of 3D work.

Other details

I am looking to buy and build as soon as possible

I am starting from complete scratch on the actual computer hardware side but at the moment I do have;

A keyboard and mouse that I am very happy with.

A 1440p 75hz monitor (I am going add and additional a 120/144hz in the future and I would like the computer to be able to support this once I do).

Being able to use MacOS as a VM that uses the graphics card would be great to.

Also, I currently have a surface laptop that I take everywhere with me, being able to remote desktop my PC at home would be a huge plus for me (my home internet speed is 220mbp/s down and 20mpb/s up).

Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.

Looks pretty good but you should consider a 3200 MHz RAM-Kit for better performance.

Decent specs but i think you can improve a few things. Better PSU, faster ram, better cooled GPU and NVME drive can all be had for just a little more

Hope this helps :) Your choice of motherboard and case are fine, but the tomohawk is a bit better, and the 220T has good airflow and includes 3 rgb fans

i would suggest pushing your 1000 pound budget to the maximum as that psu and mobo are pretty crap for the budget. Most of those games can be found on pc for pretty cheap. you will also need the extra storage as those are some pretty beefy games.

Thank you for your response, the price difference between the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 vs 3200 is only £15, thank you for the recommendation!

Hello everyone, first of all thank you very much for your input, I have taken a good look at my build and taking all of your advice onboard I have come up with this parts list, it is slightly over budget but I think for that I am getting a much better computer. Again though, if you do have any more recommendations on this new one please feel free to critique!

Thank you

is there anyway you could get a meshify-c? that case isn't great for the price but its fine if you like the aesthetic.

Looks great! Just two small changes I would make. Change your PSU to the Corsair TXM 550W, it's £65 at the moment which is a great price. Secondly I would get a slightly cheaper nvme drive, like the crucial P1, and use the £10 saved to get 3600MHz ram. Otherwise looks great, and even if you don't change these components, it will be a great rig. Enjoy :)

Thank you for the suggestion, I agree it's not great for the money, I went for the case for the 3 included rgb fans for the extra fps and I do like the way it looks

I tried looking everywhere for that PSU and it is out of stock for miles from where I live unfortunately :( I just quickly looked and found the Crucial P2 for £2 more than the P1- this should be fine right? And also upgraded the ram to 3600MHz.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look over this and help me out!
