Hello,

I have been trying to overclock my 3600x on the gigabyte gaming x x570. I have the dark rock pro 4 with 250w tdp. I am using AMD ryzen master software. I have tried pushing everything but that didnt end too well. Everything is now set to defualt. Any advice

Thanks.

How much did you push to? It's known that Zen 2 doesnt have much room for core OC, it's mostly RAM OC.

AMD CPU don't have the same OC scope as Intel ones... enable PBO, in the BIOS, & let it do any boosting it can do by itself.

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Ryzen does not benifit a whole lot with over clocking

Not worth it , just enable pbo and that will suffice

Memory overclocking is more beneficial tho

You didn't specific what your overclock attempt was, but this is what I have generally found.

The Ryzen 3600, long term stability under load hits about 4.1 @ 1.3 - 1.35v

People claim to hit 4.2 under 1.3v, but I haven't had any such luck. Might just be down to silicon lottery or poor stress testing.

DDR4 limit is about 3200, anything above that will come down to silicon lottery. Ryzen also hates odd timings for some reason.

Would recommend setting your overclock in BIOS rather than software.
