Check if the motherboard box has this picture on it:

 

if it does, no need to update it.
Most B450 motherboards you will buy now, will be Ryzen 3000 ready

Most b450 boards support zen 2 or zen + apus out of the box 

If it did not ask the vendor / a computer store to update the bios for you.

Have you bought the board yet? If not, contact the seller and ask them if it ships with the updated BIOS. Most sellers should be willing to update it for you if you ask. If not, you will need to borrow a 2000 or 1000 series chip from someone and do it yourself

I have the same MB in my wifes PC and I just checked the box...it says its ready for Ryzen 3000 series. So, unless it's been sitting on the shelves for the past year, I think you'll probably be fine. If not, AMD can send out a 'loaner' CPU to update your BIOS.
