I overclocked my cpu and it became more and more unstable as time went on. Did I wear my CPU out?

I overclocked my CPU and things went well for about a month. My computer has always been stable but as time went on the odds of it failing to boot because of a bios "CPU error" (5 beeps) went up, until eventually as of today my computer just wouldn't boot at all, CPU error every time. I reset the CMOS and it's working fine again. Did I wear my CPU out?

Maybe.

Is it becoming Summer where you are?

 

Winter overclocks do not always endure the summer.

Voltage ? 

And did you set a static voltage or one with an offset ?

Yeah with overclocking you do degrade the components faster. CPUs tend to be more affected than GPUs I have found over the years

I have no idea what my overclock settings were. My motherboard/cpu was kind of cursed in that no settings would actually work for it. I had multiple overclocking communities try to help me out but my motherboard just didn't want to work. The one thing that did work though was the built in overclock presets, which I was using. Whatever settings those were using under the hood is anyone's guess. Here's a pic of hwmonitor while my system was undergoing a p95 max heat stress test, if that helps.

Your temps look perfectly fine. CPU's can degrade over time, especially if they're overclocked. I've had CPU's last almost 10 years and others give up in 2....I had a Pentium D that didn't even last 2.

 

I would put everything back to bone stock and see if you keep getting those errors.

for auto voltage, 1.3 volts is not so bad, but some chips just degrade a little faster than others.

What's it currently doing, to be 'pegged' @ 100% usage? Is that idling...?

So you think the chip is just degraded? If it's relevant to the discussion, this CPU used to be in a small form factor build (Dan case), and the CPU ran REALLY hot. Just looking at the CPU wrong would send it over its tcase of 64C. The CPU is in a better case now, but I worry maybe damage has been done.

I was running prime 95.

Your temps look really good, you may just need to keep the current factory settings for now.
