Whatever you do, don't buy MSI laptops, they tend to have a lot of problems. I would suggest an Alienware or an Omen.

Sounds good, the only downside is the 8GB of RAM. 16GB would be much better, but what kind of games are you interested in playing with that laptop?

It's a very low end device - for 600$ fine. For 1000$ - it's insanity.

You're limiting yourself pretty badly since you're looking at slower CPUs only - consider a Lenovo Legion 5 or Asus TuF A15 - the Ryzen 5 4600H is more powerful than the i7 10750H and uses less power/produces less heat. Alternatively, the Ryzen 7 4800H(S) is FAR more powerful than the best laptop i7/i9 and uses half the power/produces half the heat.

If you ask me - a 1660-based Legion 5 or TuF A15/A17 is the goal here.

I'd also like you to check out these two that run on AMD Ryzen:

• MSI Bravo 17
• ASUS TUF A15

I accept that Intel i7 would be a great choice in terms of high performance; however, as far as value for money goes, you should consider AMD Ryzen.

The G5 has a critical design flaw with the hinge design resulting in the hinge tearing itself apart with torque
The Helios 300 is a very dated design with inefficient cooling and mediocre quality components
The L340 has a horrible display and cooling issues
The Omen has a very similar hinge design to the G5 and is extremely fragile as a result
The GF63 runs VERY loud and internal quality is shit.

Bravo 17 - same story as GF models
A15 - shit cooling it seems.

Basically all of those range from mediocre (Helios 300) to pretty poor (most others) and I would not recommend them.
