TL;DNR just an observation not even an answer

That such is being looked for implies There is a blockage which implies windows hello requires a trusted camera which in turn implies a potential security breach opportunity.  This very question makes me mistrust windows hello.  I’m hoping the answer to this one is “no” but I fear it may not be.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

No, Windows Hello needs an IR camera to work. And why exactly would you want a loophole that would compromise the security of your security solution?

My heart belongs to AMD but that doesn't mean I furiously hate Intel or NVIDIA :)

honestly I feel like someone would want this to trick someone into unlocking their computer, but then again if said loophole existed you would need access to set it up so

best I got is laziness

I'm pretty sure that this is not the right platform for those kinds of questions :D

Yeah, but then you have much better options... I have been thinking about cutting a hole in my laptop for a permanently attached USB fingerprint reader for a long time but I can't find a free spot and would have to figure out a way to get another USB port since I only have two (hint: mini PCIe).

Having a laptop with a 720p webcam doesn't automatically mean that you're gonna have access to Windows hello.
