Mine sits all month and waits for me to use it on the weekends to play SimCity or something. The video card does seem to get too hot sometimes, so I will have to ghetto strap a fan onto it.

This is my first build..Took me along time to run cables good cause i only have one working arm..But i like how it came out..

attachicon.gif20130626_011001.jpg

Looks really nice....only thing i would do different is only use one Crossfire bridge....the other connector is for a third card....you may run into issues trying to use both.

Considering this is my first build, I'm quite happy with it even though I made the grave mistake of not buying a modular power supply, took me a while to figure out how to get all the cables together but justice shall prevail!

I'm open to ideas, I noticed the sagging in other builds so figured it's "normal" for some gpu's to sag like that or am I gravely mistaken? And if so, what's that ghetto non sag method? ^_^

Ask @tmcclelland455. It should be fine, but it dosent look very nice and I think it's not very good for the PCI slot, but idk.

It's normal for bigger cards. ASUS cards are some of the worst since they are the biggest/heaviest. As for the ghetto method, I ended up using a fairly long twist tie to "tie" my XFX Double Dissipation Radeon HD 7950 to one of the fans in my case.

So the ghetto part wasn't a joke I guess :o:D

I'll try to come up with something less "ghetto" to fix the sagging, do you think it can damage my mobo or gpu in long term if left like it is atm as NeatSquid mentioned consindering he wasn't sure if it's a bad thing or not?

Honestly, I don't know. Too much sag could cause problems though (like PCIe slots snapping or the card acting funny, happened to my friend with his card, forgot which one though). I would go ghetto and do it, even though it may not look the best. Get a black twist tie and try to get it as straight up as possible so it doesn't look like complete crap.

I'll never understand why cards don't come with a rigid backplate as well as a more sturdy way to attach it to the case to support the card so it doesn't sag :/

Btw, why are you using a twist tie? Why don't you use fishing line so it won't be visible?

Forgot about fishing line. You could use some of that as well. It will work just as well, and you won't be able to see it as easily. Get the clear stuff.

Just thought of something but I'm not so sure how smart the following would be, mind giving your ghetto opinion about it :P

Was thinking of putting a sort of "pillar" right behind the red cables giving the gpu upwards support instead of the fishing line/twist tie?

I approve. Kind of like that one Zalman case that was just revealed, just more "internal"? I would say a piece of plastic velcroed to the case and card would be fine (so that it doesn't slip and stop the one fan).

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about is as long as your rig is stationary.

But if you're going to a lan party for example I would remove the graphics card and then put it back into the system once you arrive at the lan party.

why people buy sleeved cables in colours like red , green , and yellow? i  mean , you want your cables  to keep a low profile ...

Thats not necessarily true. You can easily use cables to add some nice contrast to the case.
