What determines the max ram Mhz?

I am building a new PC soon and I want to get a ryzen 5 3600 with 32 gb ram 3600 mhz. But for example, the MSI A320M-A PRO MAX says that it only supports 3200 mhz ram but the processor can handle way more than that. So should I have to worry about what the "max" ram speed on the motherboard or the processor?

You take the lowest one, and that is your max.

You worry about both - rest is silicon lottery or manually overclocking to get.  I run almost 1ghz faster on my memory than my CPU memory controller but that was quite a bit of silicon lottery luck and some dialing in on my part.
 

Check the motherboard manual.  With that low end board, if it has 4 slots, they also matter if single rank, dual rank and there are MHz thresholds for each channel.

low rated memory frequency isnt that big of a deal, but a really low end board (like this one) is.

Neither, they are usually both wrong.

 

However the MSI A320M-A PRO MAX is not going to be good enough.

 

A decent B450 or better motherboard with decent memory will do 3600mhz on ryzen with only TWO STICKS installed.

 

32gb is harder to run than 16gb

 

So you will need to source a better kit of memory if you want guaranteed support for 3600mhz.

Do you have to use that motherboard (or any a320)? It would be better if you can get a b450 or even b550 motherboard (Coming out next week I think). Those will allow you to use 3600mhz in addition to just being a better board overall.
