Air Cooling Case Recommendation

I am looking at starting a new build and looking for some case recommendations. I am planning on air cooling after watching the videos LTT put up showing AIOs vs Air coolers. I know I'm going to go with an NH-D15 on a R7 3700x and a 2070 super. I was looking at maybe the Define 7, but I was worried about airflow. Any input would be appreciated.

If you are worried about Airflow but like Fractal Design, I bought the Meshify C (https://www.newegg.com/black-fractal-design-meshify-c-dark-tg-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811352072?Item=N82E16811352072)

 

I got a NH-D15 to fit in there.

Just get any case with a mesh front

Something like a Windale 6, Scythe Ninja 5 or Fuma 2 will also be just fine for cooling that chip, would only go bigger for like the 12+ core

An RX 5700/XT is going to have close performance for a lot less money potentially unless you're going to do minecraft ray tracing.

You can also look into the Phanteks P400a cases as well.   A good place (if they have a video) to review cases is Gamers Nexus.  They go into great detail on all the case reviews.

 

With a Noctua NH-D15 (you can get it in black, in case you didn't know)  be sure to validate not only clearance but also ram slot compatibility.  The Noctua web-site should compatibility listings for your motherboard of choice and how well it fits (for memory clearance) and the case you chose will specify if it will fit in the case.

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying that you think the Noctua would be overkill for that 3700x? I think I’m most likely going to overclock down the road at some point so that was why I chose it.

Basically, the $60 big 6 heatpipe coolers will be fine for 150-200W CPUs, which the 3700X won't go past.

Also you get the most from memory overclocking it, the CPU will already boost to it's max out of the box basically.

Fractal Design Meshify C TG, Phanteks P300A or P400A, Corsair 275R Airflow, these are some good airlfow cases. I have the Meshify C with a large air cooler, love the case!
