correct/good reason to upgrade?

even your parts is very outdated, but it still works, of coz the peeformance is far from satisfaction.

how to judge if those new parts are worthy upgrade ?

 

i mean there is always newer gen every yr, or ends up to why do you even play GAMEZZ?

you usually set a standard based on your budget and what experience you want to get. so if you set a standard like

I want to play witcher 3 at 1080p high details at 40+ fps; or

I want to play fortnite at 1440p low details at 140+ fps.

 

if your system can give you that, great. if not, and you have the money, time to upgrade.

My upgrades are driven by what my games and programs require.

I a few months back moved from a 6600K to a 2700 and then moved from 16-32gb of ram both have a few reasons.

 

1. 6600k doesn't have enough threads and it was a bad buy to start

2. I do video editing which means I can use the new cores.

3. I have so much background stuff open while trying to game I run out of ram

4. Video editing loves ram

 

I made a GPU swap from a 970 to a 580 that I won on here. Why? I needed more VRAM at 1440p the 970s 3.5gb just wasn't enough and I was running into it. My 970 clocks pretty well for 970s so I lost some max FPS in titles where i wasn't VRAM bound but gained in VRAM bound titles and in video editing.

Would I have bought that card no, a 1070 or used 980ti  would have been my card if I had needed to buy it

Upgrade when you need to improve your experience or a part fails beyond repair.

 

I only have a 4GB RX580 but it pumps out 60+ in all the games I need it too while comfortably sitting in the freesync range of my monitor.

I am thinking about an upgrade but I really think I need to get a new monitor and a new card to power it.

 

In the end I am happy with 1080p 144hz, I get a great experience so I really don’t feel  an upgrade is worth the cost for a while yet.

why dont you lower to 720p, low settings, 30fps,etc 

why do you play that demanding game

why do you need to satisfy from gaming

 

that part is $200 wow thats expensive!!!

Because as @boggy77 said, you say I want to play RDR2 at 1080p high 60fps. You see can your rig do that. If it can’t, do you have menu to upgrade?  If you do, upgrade.
