The RM650 is a pretty good PSU and will be a better PSU for future upgrades. Has a 10 year warranty. Alternates to the RM650 would be the Seasonic Focus GX-650, the ADATA XPG CORE Reactor or Antec High Current Gamer Gold if you can find them in stock for a reasonable price.

I thought Gold means best in tier though (and that they run quiet under moderate load) and black is just normal.

@Bobthehomie13 Honestly though, the only reason to get a gold of the same tier would be if it was within $10-15 of the normal options in the same tier.

I'd rather suggest getting the RMx, instead of the regular RM.

Even the RM550x will be plenty for your build.

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+
