My computer won’t boot properly and it won’t run games.

Zane Ebel

I am having many issues with my pc. First of all is when I boot my pc I have to go through the bios every time, however as far as I can tell I have it set properly to boot from my m.2. Second of all is when my pc is running and I download a game, I am unable to open the games and it gives me an error. I have tried reinstalling them several times. Lastly, I cannot get my HDD to show. I have tried different power and data cables and tried just about every way I can to plug them in and yet it does not show in bios. Well it showed once but that’s it, now it doesn’t show. I am very confused on all of these and I’ve changed out every cable I could with a spare if I had it. I am truly at a loss but I am going to keep working at it and see if I can figure anything out but HELP IS VERY APPRECIATED, IT WOULD REALLY HELP ME SO PLEASE OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS. I am thinking it may be my mobo tho.

How about you tell us about the hardware you have? That would be helpful.

As far as harddrives, have you tried to initialize them in Windows Device Manager? Until you do that, windows won't be able to use them... I understand your saying you don't see them in BIOS, but this wouldn't be the first time it was just a simple Disk Manager issue... If the BIOS truly doesn't see them, then this won't work. But... worth a shot. Right click on "this PC" and go to "Mange" from there you should see under the Storage option on the left "Disk Management". Hopefully all of your drives will show up there, then you can format them and assign them drive letters etc.

As far as games not working, what is the error?

It does not show in device manager except for one random time for one boot. But whenever I load disk manager all that shows is my m.2. I do not have the exact error and my pc is currently kinda in multiple pieces but it’s was something about not being able to run it and recommended I reinstall which I did but it still doesn’t work.

What harddrive are you trying to plug in?

Im about to head to sleep, so if you tag me I will try and get back to you tomorrow.

But all I can say now, make sure your BIOS is fully up to date then go from there. Also, try different SATA ports on your mobo. If you are using an m.2 device, a couple of the SATA ports could be turned off for this. Just try a bunch of other SATA ports... After updating the BIOS.

I am trying to run a 2tb seagate barecutta. I have tried a bunch of different ports and it still doesn’t work.

Hi

I have the same mainboard,

depending on how you have set up your board, you should not use SATA 5 or 6.

you should install ahci/raid drivers after you have installed the system to see all connected devices.. that you can see are connected in bios. along with the intel chipset drivers.

sometimes as they say you have to initialize but it will have to show up first..
