You don't have other alternatives?

What about a 2700x 1080 and 1TB SSD?

Then I vote the 8700K. You can upgrade the video card later. The 1600AF can't hold a stick to the 8700K unfortunately.

The 8700 is an older cpu now. Where are you buying this from? Is this a used system?

It destroys the 1600.

the 1TB SSD is also a big improvement. 256GB is really small if you get sme games installed.

As much as I would like to vote for the AMD system... Unfortunately first gen Ryzen, while great, isn't good enough to outperform the 8700k. The 1TB SSD also helps. You lose the ti card, but not that big a loss.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

The 1600 (AF) is actually a Zen+ chip with a Zen part number. But lacks in frequency or ability to OC that of which the 8700K can do. On top of that, the 8700K will easily run high/er frequency memory as well.

Ah right, I remember hearing about that a few month back... And thought it was extremely dumb.

When AMD buys silicon, they have to do something with the over-stock.

X amount of wafers are purchased. Say the 2600x doesn't sell as expected, take some of the left over wafers, do a little neutering and give it a new naming scheme and lower price to sell off them extra wafers.

They did good with it actually, the 1600AF sells/sold pretty good. Just look at the price of it!!
