Toshiba VS Seagate external hard drive

Greetings community.

I am looking at two external drives (but limited two these two, feel free to make a suggestion for a different one) to back up some files on my computer. I currently have about 1.3 tb of data to back up, but as I am a content creator that number is always growing. I would like an external drive with 4-6tb of storage for around $100. Here are the two drives I was looking at:

I'd probably grab this for 110  over those 2 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WQyqqs/seagate-6-tb-external-hard-drive-steb6000403

Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a last gen console for use once a year. I should answer most of the time between 9 to 3 PST

Oh ok that makes sense, I didn't even notice that it was 6tb in stead of 4 or 5.

Actually I just checked and that one seems to have all sorts of bad reviews on the drive failing, any other suggestions?

there is a normal failure rate that is why you get 2-3 drives

Oh ok, I guess there must be more failures on this drive than the others? I am just wondering why there are so many reviews that say they have this issue. To be clear I use seagate drives and like them but I am not quite sure about this one.

no its just how customer reviews are most people only write something if it goes wrong.

Well I do understand this, but the other drives have the same amount of reviews and less 1 star reviews, (or rather about reliability)
