Hey there guys I'm a 17yo male, Asian. I have the typical asian hair, which is spiky/straight-ish when it's short. EVERY time my hair comes into contact with water, (eg. after showering, sweating, swimming), my hair looks ugly as f***. The front just messes up, and my sides grow out at a 45 degree angle, so my right side goes south-east, and my left side goes south-west.

I hate this and I don't know why it grows like that, it's been this way since birth. I don't like to look like this in public, so I never play sports, go to the beach, and I shower very late, just before I sleep so no one can see me (live in a dorm). I have tried using hair wax, but I use the Gatsby wax and it looks too grubby/fake and doesn't look good. Please could someone tell me what to do?

The ONLY way to fix this is when I sleep at night, for some reason it flattens my sides and makes my front look very nice/sorted. Help!

This is definitely a hair raising issue..........

Easy option= buzz cut.
Hard option= Re-encode your DNA to whatever value gives you the desired hair you want.

As a fellow asian, I feel your pain, but srs, just grow your hair out long enough to where it doesn't need styling or just cut it short enough to where you can't even do anything to it. Or just do what I do and style it in the morning straight out of the shower, and don't care what people think if it gets wet and looks like shit

I have tried growing it really long, but even though some of the sides grow downwards, there are still hairs which grow at the 45 degree angle, it's so annoying. And it looks messy! My hair doesn't really need to be styled, as the only problem is the sides. Any products you would recommend? I live in Australia and the hair cuts are like $20 each time and I don't want to spend that much every 2 weeks :(

I don't use anything on my sides, I just have it short on the sides and longer on the top for a flip. Then I let it grow out really long to where I can pony tail it because why not Yolo swag 420 and then I cut it pretty short again so I only have to pay for a haircut once a year lol

What the heck once a year! If I want my hair short I have to pay like $20 every 2 weeks since my hair grow soo fast then sloooows down when its at the stupid angle length. I hate asian hair.

luckily my hair is only in that awkward stage for like 2 weeks but the first 4 months and last 7 months look fine. My friend cuts his own hair with a buzzer every few weeks and saves himself a ton of money. Maybe you should invest some money into a buzzer and time into learning how to use it. If you're patient it's really easy to use

Buzzer = hair clipper? Won't short sides and long front look funny? I've tried cutting my own hair and it looked quite bad. Does the buzzer work on the front as well?

short does and long top will give you kind of a "punk" look, but I'm not talking about THAT long. I mean something like this (be aware I am not this male model but this is sort of the hair style I have) tyjypu9a.jpg

And yes you can just buzz the whole thing the same length and it looks fine just all short

Wear a hat to sleep/when not going out so that your hair will mold to that angle and not look puffy :D

It only works overnight, like when it completely dries etc. Even hair drying on max heat for 10 minutes don't work!

just put a beanie on when sleeping and it will fix all your hair issues. Or use a hairband and pull your hair back idk.

Sleeping completely fixes the hair, it goes bad only after I shower :/
