GTX 970 Folding Issues

Hi everyone,

 

I have an EVGA GTX 970 just I installed in a system that was previously hosting an EVGA GTX 1050ti. On this rig my 1050ti was folding 24/7 with zero issues. Under benchmarking the 970 seems stable and has not seemed to suffer from any hard errors. The GTX 970 however wont even start folding. The moment it downloads a WU it fails, attempts to upload a result, and then attempts to download another WU. It repeats this cycle over and over until the slot turns red and gives me a "failed" message. After removing the 1050ti and installing the 970 I downloaded the latest drivers for the 970 and performed a clean install. I've now tried both the 445.87 and the 442.74 driver with the same results.

 

At this time I'm about at the point where I may switch back to the 1050ti. Its a shame because the 970 should drastically outperform the 1050ti at F@H. I'm reaching out to you lot to see if I'm missing anything. I'm willing to try any troubleshooting steps except an OS reinstall as this is my NVR rig and I don't want it down for long. I’ll give reinstalling the client a shot this evening.

 

I did delete the GPU slot, close the client, and then added the GPU slot again with the same results.

I deleted the client and its data file. Restarted the PC then reinstalled. Still have the same results.....

 

It seems this is where I'm running into the issue. I'm getting 5 to 6% compiling the kernel then I run into the error as you can see below.

Have you Uninstalled (DDU'd) your drivers and done a clean install?
