Why cant i get 120hz?

K1RP4

I have a Lg Flatron w2363d which is a 1920x1080p 120hz monitor with a ryzen 3200g processor. when i go onto windows and try to change the Hz, the only options are 59 and 60Hz. I then brought a Dvi-D dual link cable to as thats the cable that everyone was getting 120Hz on but im still only getting 59 and 60Hz as an option. Anyone know whats going on?

If you're using the APU of the 3200g, its possible that it requires a dedicated graphics card for 120hz output.

Little information exists online, but the Apu DOES support 1920 x 1080 at 120hz. I am thinking it may be a limitation of the DVI port on your motherboard, some are capped at 60hz.

Have you tried custom resolution utility (cru)? I had the same issue trying to achieve 75hz with a rx5700. Windows 10 only gave me a 59 or 60hz option...

The spec sheet for that literally says

- Supports DVI-D with max. resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz

Your mobo doesn't support putting out 120Hz on any port. You'll either need a discrete GPU or another mobo.

Yeah, you're going to need a GPU or new motherboard to make use of the 120hz
