So i have this tuf505du laptop and i have been getting crazy temps even when playing 2d games. I am not very much into hardware and has close to zero experience changing thermal pastes. some of the components under the heat sink has different textures of paste.

I asked one of my friends and told me those were thermal pads.

My question, is it okay to replace the thermal pads with thermal paste?

Or i could be wrong. I just need some englightenment before opening the laptop

Heres a picture i found on some yt tutorial about the areas that possibly has thermal pads.

Those don't look like thermal pads at all.

Thermal pads are rectangles, not spread out blobs.

No, thermal pads have to be replaced with mads and they must be EXACTLY the same thickness (down to 0.1mm) else you'll have even more massive issues.

Do you know what type of thickness should i apply for the tuf505 series?
