Yes 500W is enough, but that is not the issue here. That is a very cheap low quality PSU, which is not recommended. A cheap PSU can kill hardware in your system and is probably the number one thing not to cheap out on.

Refer to this list to help you choose a better PSU:

I recommend Tier B+ at the very least, if on a budget something like the Corsair CX / CXm  is a very good choice (grey label).

If you want to overclock I would go for a 550w psu preferably a g2 550w from evga or a rmx 550w from Corsair

Wow.  Crappy selection.

So the Cougar is actually the best value.

Not sure why everyone here is saying it's not a good PSU.  It's LLC with DC to DC with a rifle bearing fan.  I'd say that's pretty good!

Ultra-Stable Voltage Output

3.3V DC-DC technology

105°C Japanese Standby Capacitor

Enhanced PSU Lifespan

Nothing a bit of marketing can't fix.

Ah.. So if they're only using DC to DC for the +3.3V, then the transfomer must have the second winding for the +5V.  Suck.  And therefore, it's probably not LLC either.

There's got to be better places to shop for computer parts in Egypt.  Come on.  :D

This place seems MUCH better...

Looks like they only have higher wattages, though.  I guess Egyptian retailers equate high wattage with high quality and never order high quality low wattage PSUs?

so is it okay if i go with a psu with extra wattage than needed or can i just go with a 600 or 500 watts 80+bronze?

because as you can see there isn't alot of low wattage PSUs here because most people just buy a pre built

If you want to be safe and have room for upgrades and headroom for a lot of overclocking then get a 550-650watt psu and get it gold rated so your electricity bill won’t be as high compared to bronze where your bill will be slightly more than on gold psu

A PSU only delivers whatever power is demanded of it.  If you could get a auality 1000W PSU for the price of a mediocre 500W, you should get the 1000W.

If your retailers equate high watt with high quality and that's the way they buy in their assortment, it pretty much limits your choices.
