What was everyones best hardware buy, Still using it?

 

Mine would have to be my H105, bought in 2014 for $110USD. Its been in a few builds, now cooling my Ryzen very well.

 

 

Just curious, looking at all my hardware.....

When they used to carry Antec Formula 6 in stock on the shelf. I had a grip of tubes at one time.

Been threw a few TVs.

Xbox one still in use. 

Intel SSD still in use, typing on it now

Well I remember going to best buy with my grandparents and getting a 19" Color Zenith Television. Was all set up for cable TV. The old one from somewhere my fathers childhood in the early 60s was still operational in the 80s. Not sure, but think that one came from Montgomery Ward maybe?? Ah well.....

 

Walkmans, cassette tapes, ear buds, DVDs, speakers, video games...... I think pretty much have purchased or family has purchased something from every section of best buy through all the years lol. Washer and Dryer and even a ButterFinger at the check out.

I have an SSD that i bought in 2014, stll works fine. Use it for bench rigs.

As for the best part I bought, definitley the Ryzen 3 3200G. Not only was it the most expensive part of all, I love it! The CPU part is perfect for me. The iGPU blew me away in terms of how well it performs, but I as I originally planned and still do plan, I will be buying a new GPU soon.

How does that 3200G do in games?

In terms of unexpected longevity, it would be Antec case fans. 140mm fans that came in a computer case I bought in 2013. I've gone through many case fans and everything else has died since but there's 2 Antec case fans in my current computer that I've had running for 7 years no problems.

most recently, i got an hdmi splitter for easy switching from wfh/gaming at my desk. Typing this out makes me seem pretty lame I guess

A Radeon 7970 Ghz edition. Not sure if "best buy" since I technically got it for free.

I love my LG 144hz ultrawide monitor so much (34GK950F). I've had it for about half a year now. It was crazy expensive, but my old monitor died and Costco gave me a full refund... so upgrade time

My Alienware Aurora R1. Picked it up for £100 as faulty. Given me something to do during lock down. 

 

Had to get a new cpu for it but that was also cheap. 

 

If I can get Command Center to work it could be worth £250-300

I love my 34GK950F... I got it on a good sale on Black Friday, and it's absolutely amazing.

GTX 780 Founders for €140 used just before GPU mining became a thing. Sold my previous GPU for twice its worth.

I have the first rocketfish all metal mouse pad. That thing is over a decade old and still hasn't been replaced.

Dell S2417DG monitor I bought a few years ago for $400 -- the first monitor I purchased that I didn't cheap out on. Loved it so much I bought another one.

 

That, and my 128GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD I bought in 2015. It's been through a laptop, two desktops, and is now a boot drive in a NAS.  Has never let me down.
