Should This PC Be Upgraded?

(I am asking for a friend)

Here is the PCs specs

- Intel score i5-2500k CPU @ 3.30GHz

- OC Genie Military Class 2 (motherboard)

- 750w Corsair power supply

- 8GB RAM (not sure which type)

- AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series (2x)

Obviously this PC isn’t really up to spec (about 10 year old build). Should it be upgraded, or does a whole new machine need to be built?

If it should be upgraded, what would be the best upgrades to make, to get the best performance (gaming).

You could overclock the CPU to 4.5-4.7ghz and just buy a new graphics card. I wouldn't buy more than a GTX 1660 for that setup. And if you could find another 8gb of ram.

If you want a serious gaming machine, yes you need to upgrade.

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: G.Skill Aegis 2x16gb 3200 @3600mhz | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Red Devil RX 7900XT | Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: MP510 960gb and 860 Evo 500gb | Cooling: CPU: Noctua NH-D15 with one fan

FS in Denmark/EU:

Asus Dual GTX 1060 3GB. Used maximum 4 months total. Looks like new. Card never opened. Give me a price.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

What I’ve gathered is that it would just be best to buy a new machine at this point, and use this one as a side machine?

I’ll pass it on to my friend
