Radeon rx480 gamingx 8gb drivers crashing

Go to solution Solved by SuperMetalBro,

Make sure you go in your Radeon Adrenalin and set your power limit to 100 percent. I was getting crashes on my RX Vega and realized that my Vega was only set to half power. Also, the version 20.4.1 fixed a lot of black screen issues.

OK so my build specs are here

Gpu: Msi Radeon rx480 gamingX 8GB

Cpu: Ryzen 5 1600 6 core processor

Psu: Corsair cx650M Power supply

Ram: gskill Ripjaws 2 4GB Sticks (8 gb)

Mb: B350M PRO-VDH (MS-7A38)

HD/SSD: Wd 1TB HD

OK so i received my rx480 for my birthday in march to replace my very crappy NVIDIA view-max gt 740 2GB GPU i did all the driver installation correctly i have the 1x6-pin card and with my card i have experienced many problems one of them being

  1. Drivers crashing in-game

while in-game at like the end of a CS:GO match moving into a new map the drivers completely give up and crash also when trying to launch borderlands 3 after it finishes loading the game up BAM! the drivers crash and with the new Gmod update the drivers are on and off working the console had told me that it was the drivers crashing i reinstalled the drivers heck i even tried old more stable drivers but now i think i found the problem

2. the power consumption and clock speed keep spiking then going idle

i think the source of all this problem is the clocks and power consumption spiking at random points i adjusted the settings in performance to see if this would solve my problem but guess what it didn't i'm kinda at the end of my wit with this card can someone please help me if not ill just RMA it

Not sure RMA is an option, but it might have a mining bios on it, if it came from ebay

did you already try reinstalling windows? Could try updating your motherboard bios as well.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
