looking for a way to cap ssd speed .

i bought a kingspec 2422 m.2 ssd from aliexpress for my laptop to use just as a boot drive and i want to keep all the important data on my hdd . and this ssd is known to overheat and kill itself , is there any way to limit the speed and throttle it down ? and will that even prevent overheating ?  i couldn't find any related topics since the search is bloated with ssd speed up guides  .

*i know linus did a video on this brand calling it garbage and i know spending a bit more and getting a good ssd is better but i don't have the budget for that and i need a small m.2 2422 256gb ssd because i still need my hdd slot and also there are almost no other ssd s on aliexpress that size and i cannot buy from the us websites (newegg amazon ...) because i live too far .

how about you monitor temps and see for yourself?

If it's not getting above 80 celsius and still dies early, you know that reducing the speed would have done nothing.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You could probably slap one of those self-adhesive heatsinks onto the controller and call it a day.

I have one of those in my Thinkpad (couldn't argue with 1tb of SSD storage for £40), but I'm not quite brave enough to use it as my boot drive.
