The Asus TUF/G14 both have disappointing screen response times, other options?

Screen response time is a meaningless metric unless it's over 50ms. I've gamed on 1ms, 3ms, 8ms and 37ms (my current one) - it doesn't make any difference.

It's not supposed to be as high as it is on the G14's panel though and you can notice it through ghosting, if I'm paying that much, I would like good screen response times

You won't notice it, im pretty much certain. Response time is a meaningless metric that OEMs use tobl upsell expensive monitors.

I would say it depends on the individual. Even myself using 144Hz ~7-9ms panel, I can still notice ghosting in fast paced games.

No idea, u can say that I've never seen ghosting a a display that's under 40ms

Agreed, some people won't , others will.
