ASUS XG438Q 43" monitor question

So I bought this monitor on a whim, and every time I put it on 100hz and hit apply, it starts to do this weird flicker almost non stop.  144hz is the same.  I have to keep it on 60hz to use it.  Not entirely sure if I have a bad monitor or just something I need to change out to make it work right.  I have changed the display port cable and it still does it.

 

Ryzen 7 2700

ASUS Rog Strix rx 580

Corsair vengeance ram

750w power supply

 

Any help would be great
