$1000 Budget For DSLR

Hey Everyone, 

 

I am currently in the market for a new DLSR around the $1000 budget (CAD). I have been looking at the T7i and 80D from Canon as I currently have the T6 with the kit lens and 55-250 Zoom lens. I am comfortable with my camera but small limitations are becoming anoying and I enjoy photography enough to make the jump. I mostly shoot stills but Video may be a option down the road but TBH I know phones also do great work with this already. 

 

I am willing to make a brand change now but not sure if it is worth it as I am comfortable with these devices. Also this $1000 is pre tax.

A used 77D is going to do just as well as an 80D. 
to get a non cropped 4K in video you’d need a 90d m6mii. (For canon)
I’d sell the t6 with both lenses and buy some better glass.

I suggest looking at the Canon EOS RP or the Sony A7 II. These cost a bit more, but the larger sensors can grow with your kit. You can adapt your lenses and run in APS-C mode until you get full frame lenses.

 

The Canon SL3 and M50 are also great options that'd give you back some funds for a brighter lens (you'd probably want it for video indoors).

I would go for a canon 90d or 80d
