So im new to building pcs and my first build went perfectly.

I have today received a new CPU Ryzen 5 and fitted it correctly to my motherboard ( A320M-HDV ) On booting it seems fine, fans spin lights on etc. My proplem is that it won't connect to my TV as my HDMI Channel is not picking it up or has disappeared completely. The mobo no graphics card ATM as I'm waiting for delivery, is this my proplem? I have checked my ram and put the older CPU in and it all works fine..

I'm at a loss and can only assume it's because there is no graphics card ATM?

Any hints would be great

Have you tried updating the bios? some of the newer CPU's wont work on a mobo with an older bios.

If the CPU is not a G-series CPU (so a 2400G or 3400G, if you got a Ryzen 5), it won't display video.

Have you done a BIOS update too, before swapping the CPU?

This cpu doesn't have integrated graphics, so you have no way to output video without a dedicated graphics card

How would I go about doing a bios update? I can't get the screen to even show the splash unless I put the old CPU in?

A BIOS update would not be needed for this CPU+motherboard combo.

That's because A320 released at the same time as Ryzen 1000 series, so the support is built in.

You just need something that can do video out (which you CPU can't, but your videocard can).
