Hey all, hope this is the right place to post this as i guess its network gear haha. About to build my dream network set up. Now I'm wondering if SSD in the dream machine pro and the NVR is worth the extra cost and hit vs normal HDD. Currently I'm looking at get 5x Samsung QVO 2tb drives. Plan is to have a totally of 10 x 1080p and 2x 4k cameras. I imagine the plan back would be nice and snappy vs WD purple drives ?

bitdefender is meh, i had it when trying different vpns out and found its speeds not to great. For me personally nord vpn was the best but PIA was in a very close second

Got network ports on each floor ? Or will only one be hard wired then each mesh node be wireless ?
-
I believe asus has something along those line on its routers. QoS or something like that. Not a feature i can say i have used since i have a 1gbps connection.
-
Internet Speedtest / connection speed support needed.

Well i would say try a different cable/ port and see if that solves it and double check your drives on your pc -
Will a high quality PSU help me with this? 🤔
Escapenz replied to GamerBlake's topic in Power Supplies
Would just invest in a UPS. I have 960w unit for my pc. Little over the top but got it for a good price -
have you tried another phone ? You are very correct about not getting the speeds. I have them in my house and my 2.4ghz is 100mbps both ways (little more but never used 2.4ghz) and 5ghz is 600mbps. From what i can tell you have yours set up like mine as well

What is the best VPN to go for now in 2020?
Escapenz replied to Theminecraftaddict555's topic in Networking
pretty much nothing.... -
It looks as if as i just ran it as i just sold my 2080 super (since 3000series is nearly here figured ill ofload it now and get a little less than i paid for it) and got this card and i got a score of 3200 at 1080p and 1440p i got 1862. Have you removed the old AMD drivers ? I have the same card MSI GTX 1660 Armor OC

was more another option if he just wanted to set up a single unit or something. From linus video it seems like its good good enough speeds and distance for his needs as a long range AP.

https://www.ui.com/unifi/unifi-wifi-basestation-xg/ i think this is what he used but what @Electronics Wizardy has shown will also do
-
I think the units them self to beam the wifi that far are not actually that badly price
-
yes i run cat 6a solid core. Does break easier but out of the 25 ish runs ive done i haven't had a issue with breaking.

A PoE switch would be better just to cut down on power plugs needed but at the same time the switch you got now is bloody great. I brought one myself and love it. I also make all my own patch leads as i enjoy doing it and can make it the length i need and not the closed i can get. I have my cable stapled going up my walls.

Have you got a budget in mind ? Personally i have 1gbps fiber at my house and just went for Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-LITE Dual-band AC1200 and i have 3x of them in my 130m2 square house. Now personally i would go 3 on each floor and you should get great coverage like that but could always try 2 or even 1 if money is a issue. ((May seem a little crazy have 3 AP each floor but that should give you really good speeds over 5Ghz on each floor)) As for outside not really sure what its called but Linus did do a video and go a dish in his roof when he done a massive upgrade and it looks to ha
