Depends on what games and what you're expecting. LoL and CSGO? Sure. Doom Eternal? Nope

You probably want at least 8gb of ram, but yeah, you can probably play most games (especially multiplayer esports games) low to medium-ish settings at 720p or 1080p.

This really depends on the types of games you play and the compromise you are willing to take in video quality.

Not GTA V. Overwatch and Minecraft is good with more ram.

I can only agree with the guys posting above.

If you have a bit of money for it idd recommend getting a new platform. Get a 3200G with 16GB of ram or something.

But yeha for 720 low get another 8GB stick and done

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

You can get DDR3 RAM pretty cheap used on ebay. No need to buy new since they hold a lifetime. I bought 16GB for 50 € recently.

That CPU starts to show some age at this point. If your mobo supports it, you could get Ivy i7 which is still really good pick. Even Sandy i7s can still kick butt.

OW should work. Its pretty light on CPU. Minecraft will work, but since its CPU heavy even without mods, you might have issues. GTAV is nope. Your CPU is 2 years older than midrange CPUs on the year that game was released. I mean, you are gonna need to lower both resolution and graphics to get things going. Its better just to see if you can do cheap upgrade to i7.

Things have definitely changed since launch, remember when an overclocked G3258 was a great cpu for games like GTA 5? Back then, before mods and all the updates over the years, an i5-2500 used to be very respectable with well more than 60fps, and the GTX1050 would have been more than capable of providing an adequate experience, as the 750ti used to be a good budget GPU for that game.

Have the updates to GTA 5 really made the Vanilla game and this hardware that obsolete that low setting, and assuming low expectation, are not achievable on it anymore?
