The only anime I've ever watched is Princess Mononke.
I was high, it was on TV. I saw some woman riding a dog. Then she fell off. I thought awesome the dogs gonna go back and get her. Then it started chewing on her head.

WHAT THE FUCK!

Not to mention those glowing things that lived in the trees.

Man. What at a trip that was.

I watched the whole thing, had no idea what was going on, we were all just so blown away and confused.
I'm pretty sure the people that made it were on acid.

I dont care for it myself, but I really, really hate the people that are obsessed with it.

 

They are pretty creepy, weak minded people. Why watch cartoons in a language that you cant speak/read/write, and which are aimed at japanese school girls? I also find a lot of anime fans to be quite pedophilic. i use 4chan a lot, and the majority of the anime characters that get posted on the boards I visit seem to be drawn to be quite young.

 

Are there japanese people that are obsessed with western cartoons?

Yes, I was talking about the people that are obsessed with it to the point of collecting posters, pictures and dressing strangely. It reminds me of people that use drugs and alcohol.

People are always obsessed with something and what's wrong with it being cartoons in a different language? To be honest, it's not just about the "cartoons" usually once you start to watch anime and truly enjoy it you start to appreciate japanese culture as a whole and many of us otaku's go on to learn the many japanese alphabets and the language itself to get rid of the language barrier.

 

And yes there are indeed japanese people that are obsessed with western cartoons, the grass is always greener on the otherside hence why there are always people interested in different cultures to their own, it's interesting, if we didn't have any interest in cultures other than our own then we probably wouldn't have had explorers and communication would not have been made between countries, we would not have progressed to the level of technology and intelligence we have now and we'd essentially be living in the dark ages still. I don't understand the constant condescending responses people tend to have towards anime, as if people that watch and enjoy anime are obviously lacking in maturity and intelligence which obviously isn't the case.

 

The characters that you see that seem quite young are supposed to be young and cute, it's an art style, the same way the bad guy is always drawn in certain ways and the good guy is always drawn in certain ways, once you appreciate the features of anime you can truly see how great it really is.

1.I can't take you serious with that name. 2. Wow. So many sterotypes. And we are all guys that suck at sports, only get A's, have acne, are socialy arkward and just overall wierdo's. K. (techy guys) 3. It's called a fandom and cosplay. (I don't cosplay but when it's done rigth i don't mind it.)

Yes I do. I'm working my way through Naruto since I started to watch it after Toonami was let go and there were erratic episodes on Cartoon Network so I never really watched it as a whole. I have also gone though Birdy the Mighty (the remake), Attack on Titan, and parts of Inu Yasha.
