I know they specifically noticed a camera that was like 1/3 the price of here, or something... (It might have also been one of the Newegg guys come to think of it... Same trip though)

Also, it was name brand, not a knock off -Important- :P

When I went to Hong Kong a couple of years ago I was on the hung for some Klipsch Mode M40's which had JUST been released. I searched everywhere in Mon(g) Kok which is where you will want to go to look for anything. Prices were the same if not a little higher than what I could get here in Aus. I don't think there is that much actual tax on items so the bottom line is the bottom line regardless of country. If you do find anything really cheap though be sure to let us know!

Is Klipsch a china manufactured headphone imported?

Klipsch is based in Indianapolis, US though. So maybe it doesn't matter THAT much?

Should be a bit cheaper I guess, but import tax might make up for that, I know I can't ship anything to me else it costs around what it costs here anyways if not a bit more because of import tax and shipping :'( but I struck a deal on a 680 the price of a 760 here in my country so woohoo for who ever put that one up.

Because a company based in the USA, Euro or anywhere else means they don't have their products manufacturer out of China?

The Companys based location means nothing.

Sometimes it does cutting cost through outsourcing.

Getting stuff made in China, does that always mean that costs are that much lower in China? My understanding of corporate logic totally allows for them to be shipping it to some other place for distribution and them going back to China for sales. That happens with some stuff in other companies I know.

A DK9008 (have no idea is it shine 2 or 3) costs US$130 here. You can get a 1600 MHz 8GB ram from TEAM for $72 and a 1333 MHz 8GB for $60. TEAM is pretty much the cheapest ram here.

If you are interested, you can go to Shum Shui Po to have a look. The shopping centers (yes there are TWO) named Golden sells tech related items. You can sometimes find cheap bargains.

There're also shopping centers in Mong Kok and Wan Chai selling these things.

Stuff made there will be cheaper. Anything imported may be more expensive because that depends on import taxes. Remember to check how expensive stuff you are allowed to bring back toll free. Otherwise it would be seen as fraud.

Yes. It's from Taiwan. I've used it for a year overclocked. No problem.

There's usually 30% customs tax here and retailers usually want to make at least another 30% on top of MSRP+30% tax (because they don't really understand what MSRP means apparently) but some of them usually go as far as 100% markup or beyond.

Things on Taobao are cheap. But there are many fake stuff especially phones. Be extremely careful.
