Too Many Requests

Steps to Reproduce/What were you doing before it happened?

Liking photos posted in a member's album. This has happened previously, which I joked about in a status update.

 

What happened?

I liked 5-6 photos before reaching the "Too Many Requests" page (please see screenshot below). Also, clicking "Try again" immediately would not bring me back to the forums page, I think I had to wait about a minute before I was able to access the forums again.

 

What did you expect to happen?

I expected to like an album post without encountering any time-out pages.

Any other relevant details:

The first time it happened I didn't expect to reach a "Too Many Requests" time-out page, but I rationalized it as an anti-bot spam measure implemented by the forums. I was later informed that there wasn't a limit on the number of reacts per user per anything, so this time I intentionally triggered the page by liking many album posts in succession.

 

Also, I don't believe I've run into any issues liking thread posts or liking status replies in rapid succession (hi Gegger <3). I only run into this page when I like album posts.

Wow, you hit that rate limit quite a lot (and you're pretty much the only person to do so). It looks like you have a bunch of LTT tabs open at once that are all polling for updates, and you react a lot, which adds up to hitting the limit relatively often. The rate limit is working as intended, and is essential to reducing the forum's downtime, so there's nothing that I'm going to change here at the moment I think.
