For the Ryzen 5 3600 there are a few options. If you want to spend around $100, you could get a B450 motherboard. However, most B450 boards don't support third gen out of the box. There are a few updated models that do though like the AsRock B450 Steel Legend or the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. Just make sure it says Ryzen 3rd gen ready on the box. You could also get an X570 motherboard instead. They all come third gen ready, but they cost more at around $150-200. In the end, it's up to you.

To expand on what @TheDailyProcrastinator said, the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max is a really good option. However, if you like RGB, and want to save $10, you could get the AsRock B450 Steel Legend instead. I'm not saying the Tomahawk Max is a bad choice though. They're both good motherboards. I just want to point out that there are options.

Currently in the same situation looking for a mobo for a 3600, sadly the tomahawk Max is sold out where I am, but the mortar Max from msi is also 3rd gen ready and has great specs and same price area, it is a mATX though or you have a gaming pro max from msi, 3rd gen ready but not as many thrills. from what I understand they all have the same vrms just look a little different aesthetically
