I'm planning to build an rtx 2080 ti 3700x build and I don't see any point getting a 3900x or any other upgrade and my budget would be $500 and under

Personally I like having seperate headphones for listening to music vs for gaming. I have a mx50 for music and a hyperx cloud 2 for gaming. Honestly I think the hyperx could 2 is a great choice if you aren't super into music as it still sounds good playing music just not as good as headphones designed primarily for music.

Uhm, most gaming headsets are under 200, and nearly all 300. Pro-grade is the option to go if youre doing 300-500 USD, and for the best experience, I suggest using a drop 9xx with a decent dac/amp. If you want gaming, go with the best gear from a company you like, such as the nari ultimate from razer, or The corsair Virtuoso, ect. Nothing is 'too much' for video games, epically the triple-a's, but the flagship headsets from most gaming companies will cost under 200-300 USD, and should cover some of the critical things (drives, sound quality ect.) but you could also go with some more everyday headphones, such as the Bose QC 35's, or the Sony WH-1000XM3's, but theses are more everyday-life headsets, but they won't look ridiculous if you wear them in public

@InnerBeast Gaming with that triple upload

I keep hearing to not use "Gaming headphones" and use good sounding ones with a mic which I was going to do.

The sheer amount of headphones and everybody disagreeing about whats good at what price point makes me just scourge the internet and average up points on each of the headphones. So that aside any recommendations?

The Drop 9xx's with an dac/amp, and a external mic. $200 headphones (its pretty much a Sennheiser hd 650, a pair of legendary but older that still cost $500+ headphones, which Sennheiser didn't want to put on sale, to not de-value their products, but still wanted to make cheaper) , $200 (or less, if you choose) dac/amp, $100 mic. Easy. No questioning what else. Well... You can drive you headphones on normal pc audio, but the thing is they have a really high resistance compared to most headphones, meaning that that they probably won't get as loud as you would like with out at least an amp.

It's subjective but I would say $300 is kind of the tipping point for headphones.  You certainly don't need to spend that much, but I think most people whether they think they care about audio or not will benefit up to around that point, but perhaps not much so beyond it.  That gets into the realm of people really "into" audio.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

k. Sorry, they're the 6xx's. No such thing as the 9xx's. https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx . I also recommend the schitt magni heresay (pronounced 'shit' lol) https://www.schiit.com/products, along with a blue yeti https://www.amazon.com/s?k=blue+yeti&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 mic, with a boom if you prefer

They do, but it alters the sound to give them a warmer sound. If you prefer that, go ahead, but I like to remain neutral in my recommendations, especially with headphones as accurate as the 6xx's. What I suggest? Go with a tube amp if You're okay with spending a little more, and the item has free returns, or, you have tested out tubes amps and you like them. Alrigh. I'm going to be off for the next 12 hours.

i heard rumor about asus rog theta 7.1 being very good.

it has 7.1 surround audio, rgb, decent mic and very good sound isolation.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.
