All games on 1080p Lowest settings :

Rainbow six siege - 120 drops to 90 sometimes

Apex legends -聽 80-100

CSGO even can't go over 200 or 160

PUBG is redicilous around 70

all games on lowest settings

Those results seem normal for first gen ryzen

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black聽(with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux聽- Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?聽ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained,聽group reg is bad

Yeah first gen ryzen struggles quite a bit in high refresh rate gaming.

Its a decent cpu but it is 3 years old now. What kind of fps are you expecting?

like in games like R6S which aren't demanding I guess, maybe 144fps minimum if I'm on lowest settings?

I think you're probably limited with that cpu, especially if it doesnt take advantage of multiple cores.

That's not really bad.

It will be better, but I think your expectations are too high.

Could be many factors, drivers, certain graphics options turned off, etc...144hz is kind of a tall order. I have a hard time believing he is getting those kinds of framerates on ultra with a ryzen 5 1600 and a 1650 super thats roughly on par with a rx 580...I could be wrong though.

My expectations are to get minimum stable 144 on lowest settings on competetive games, will my rig if I upgrade to 3600 should hold it good? GTX 1070TI OC'd is like an Stock 1080?

On 1080 resolution it will better be able to feed your gpu...

It should do that.聽 You don't need to OC the 10u0 Ti at all. Even a 1060 could render that many frames. The problem is your CPU can't prepare them in time. Not many CPU's can.

1080 resolution is more cpu intensive...a r5 3600 should better handle these resolutions. Basically, your cpu just cant keep up...

No it's not. The resolution is irrelevant for the CPU.

The next time you play a game, watch your cpu usage on lower resolutions vs higher ones. 1080 resolution will result in higher cpu usage vs 2k or 4k, which utilizes the gpu more to maintain frame rates... It absolutely is relevant.

A 2600 probably wouldnt be worth it...a 3600 should, in theory provide a decent fps 'boost'...or you could wait a few months for the next gen ryzen cpus...

If you can't stand your frame rates, then yes.

Yes, but that's because it's being GPU bound. Correlation isn't causation. If you're CPU bound, the resolution doesn't matter.

Also, 2K doesn't mean 1440p.
