RTX 2070 Super vs RX 5700 XT?

n0klu

Wsp guys, I'm going to be buying all the parts for my new build soon, but I need some help choosing my graphics card. The rx 5700 xt is $125 cheaper than the rtx 2070, so I'm just wondering which would be the better choice.

I honestly like Nvidia's drivers better when it comes to performance. Its your preference/what you play on PC that'll determine what you get. I'd look up benchmark tests with the R5 3600 and 2070 / 5700 XT.

That is really similar to what I just built about 2 weeks ago.  I went with the 2070 Super for only 1 reason - driver support.   I could not get a solid answer if the drivers were finally fixed or not.  I wanted my first gaming PC to be as solid/issue free as possible.

My research into the 2 cards showed the 5700 xt/2070 super were very comparible in most games where the 2070 was generally ahead.   It was never by that much.  The RX 5700 XT that I was going to get was the MSI Gaming variant which was retailing for about 429.  The 2070 Super that I got was the Gigabyte Windforce oc at 489 (at the time of purchase).  The difference for me was only 60 bucks.

So in my opinion, you should research the current state of the AMD drivers for the 5700Xt and decided for yourself which one makes more sense.   Both cards are highly capable GPUs.
