(Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-02-16 15:00 EST-0500)

What do you think of this build? I know I pay a premium for certain things where I could save money but I have some reasons for them. Nonetheless I'd like to have some feedback on the build!

Thanks.

I would go with 1600mhz ram. 1866 won't  help you much. And you probably only need a 650w PSU.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

----CPU: FX-6300 @ 4.2ghz----COOLER: Hyper 212 EVO----MOBO: MSI 970A-G46----PSU: OCZ 600watt----CASE: Black Corsair C70----GPU: Sapphire 7870 dual fan ghz edtion----2 random HDD'S----A couple fans here and there. Mouse: Gigabyte M6900-------Keyboard: Logitech G105-----Mousepad: Steel series something something.

here are some things that I'd change

this motherboard. it's cheaper and it does the exact same thing:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz87mxd3h

this ram kit. it looks good(imo) and you won't observe any difference in speed:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/a-data-memory-ax3u1600w4g9dmv

this video card. it's.... the best :P

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-03gp42884kr

edit: I'd also change the psu with this one:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/silverstone-power-supply-st85fp

not any specific reason, just that it's silverstone and you won't observe any difference between this one and the corsair one. both support 2 way sli/cf so you can add another 780ti in the future

The OP clearly used PCPartPicker Canada bud. Quoting US prices isn't really a great help ;)

@Nauksy looks great, keep the 1866mhz RAM. The power supply is much more than you need though, you can easily step down to 650w unless you plan on running 2 video cards in the future.

Grab one of the GTX 780's off of the EVGA B Stock website. You'll easily save $150.

Thanks for the suggestions! I like the motherboard and honestly I don't know why I haven't looked into it before. What are the differences, if any... Then why would such motherboards(sniper m5) exist? I also won't change the ram as I like the idea of low profile ram.

Pictures will come for sure :) I'm ordering tonight!

Wireless will come in handy because I'll probably move in another room in the house soon so we'd have to route other cables and I'll definately plan some LAN parties with my buddies so it'll be easier to go wireless and I'm also not giving up anything for it.

The thing with ram is that it's the same price as 1600mhz...so why not. I know I won't see any benefits but meh :P

look great to me. Only thing i would do is add are replacement fans for the H100i as the stock fans (or my ones at least) have a nasty vibrating noise.

Lower the psu to 600/650W unless you're planning on going with dual cards in the future. You could get cheaper 1600Mhz ram. Motherboard is fine if you like it.

Spoiler

Corsair 400C- Intel i7 6700- Gigabyte Gaming 6- GTX 1080 Founders Ed. - Intel 530 120GB + 2xWD 1TB + Adata 610 256GB- 16GB 2400MHz G.Skill- Evga G2 650 PSU- Corsair H110- ASUS PB278Q- Dell u2412m- Logitech G710+ - Logitech g700 - Sennheiser PC350 SE/598se

Is it just me or is Grammar slowly becoming extinct on LTT?

Well I picked the 860 as I might add another card on the future and I thought it would be better to buy this one and be done with it.

Anyone can tell the difference between the sniper m5 and the d3h?

Thanks a lot for the (fast) replies guys! Great community.

well, the motherboard you choose has more overclocking "functions" so yeah... that's why it costs more

but that's why I said that you should get another one. you will not see any difference in gaming if you choose a$150 mobo over a $400 one. motherboards don't affect the performance in this way

If you want a better power delivery (OC) , better onboard sound, a PLX PCIe chip, a marbel raid controller and better connectivity (both inside and outside), the Sniper board can do it.

The other board is more basic, it has a OK integrated audio, more than enough connectivity for regular use, the Intel Sata III and USB 3.0 controller (enough for a couple of drives and peripherals), decent quality for last a couple of years and regarding PCIe expansion, it's packed with enough for a 2-way SLI / crossfire config.

Overall, one is a more premium oriented board, with more features and accessories, while the other one is just a good mid-range option.

If you want to save more bucks, ditch the H100i and go for a Air cooled option. It's about the same in temperatures and noise, but maybe not that extreme performance or stealthy looks.

only if we talk about for example  a h81 chipset motherboard that's worth $60 and a asus maximus vi which is worth many times more than that. but in the op's case I don't think that he will actually see any fps difference. the motherboard I have chosen ain't a bad one

you will achieve the same oc on any of those boards. the more expensive motherboard is better if we talk about liquid nitrogen cooling and oc-ing when you need a better power delivery and all sotr of "oc things" :D

I already thought about going air but I really prefer the looks of the aio and I feel it's more worth it as I can't fit the nh-d14 nor the ph-tc14pe. Well I guess at this point it would be sad to skimp on the mobo! I like the onboard audio and the looks

Well i might not need the ln2 features as I will never go that far! What motherboard would you recommend for a normal oc? Would the sniper be worth for the audio? Just wondering if normal audio chips are enough or crap(I'm not an audiophile but I like to have the best often times :P if it's worth it)
